Graduation – Part 1

January 10, 2014 By DegreeofFreedom in Filed Under: Interviews, Uncategorized

Well my senior thesis has been turned in and my last class passed, so it’s time to take a break from this week’s break to talk about what the whole Degree of Freedom One Year BA might add up to.  I start today with part of one a two-part podcast (the second half to appear next Friday) which takes a look at what I discovered about MOOCs and other free-learning courses from a year of taking a degree worth of them.

This is the first of your podcasts I have listened to – it was suggested by Professor Bol of the ChinaX course I am currently taking through Harvard’s MOOC. I am also taking the Think Again course from Coursera, it was exciting to see I am taking two of the classes you have taken. It is inspirational to hear of your journey, and I’ll now go back and listen to many of your podcasts. I am not trying to get a degree or anything, but I am homebound so I figured I would use my time purposefully in getting something like the college education I failed to get when younger (I’m 42). thanks for the inspiration!

And thank you for visiting. I suspect the sudden jump in unlinked traffic has something to do with Professor Bol’s suggestion to stop by. Glad you’re enjoying both ChinaX and Think Again (I’ve tried not to play favorites, but they really have been two of the classes I’ve enjoyed the most).

      Best,

      Jonathan
